What ELSE would Dad want for his 87th birthday dinner?
We should have adequate supplies of new shell and hard shell lobsters for the big holiday weekend but we need you to order ASAP so we have enough, but not too much left over. Clams as usual are getting pricier as more people want them and fewer harvesters want to dig in the summer heat. Since the 4th is on Monday we WILL be open but only until 2 PM, so plan accordingly.
Some of the best striper fishing in several years is happening NOW! Live mackerel and sand worms are both doing the trick, with lots of 25"+ and keepers keeping the anglers busy. Don't forget you can only keep one fish daily and they must be 28-35". When I hear people complaining about having to release too many fish over 35" I think that's a good problem to have! Flounder are spotty and a few fluke are showing up. Massive schools of pogies just off shore make it a good idea to have a few snag hooks in your tackle box; live pogies are a rush to fish with for big stripers! I'm grinding chum so you can get your own live mackerel if you have a boat. I managed 15 stripers in a couple hours trolling tube and worm rigs yesterday morning not far from the Boat Club, and a local caught and released a 39" fish on a large Kastmaster today in the river system(not burning his spot!)

If you find more than three customers inside when you come to the door please wait until somebody leaves; we limit the number of customers to four at a time because more than that is just too many in our little shop.
